Ikea ReeDo Story

The video, lasting 20 minutes, presents re-use design and fashion in the setting of a love story set inside an Ikea store. It was the project work of Designing the Sense 2012, a learning workshop in the Fashion Semiotics course, 2nd level Program in Fashion, University of Bologna, in partnership with the Ikea Rimini store and the support of UniRimini Spa.
The props and clothes were made by the students under the supervision of the designer Fethi Atakol and the fashion designer Cristiana Curreli. Designing the Sense is directed by the Professor Giampaolo Proni.
Reedo Couture is the brand of re-use fashion produced by ReeDoHub. First taylor: Cristiana Curreli. The design of each dress of the Reedo IKEA Story collection followed the emotional development of the characters in the film, from the first timid encounter (clothes rigid, structured and dark) to full love (clothes soft, light and clear). All garments are made from IKEA waste fabrics. Fashion shooting, all within the Ikea Rimini store, by Giulia Ripalti.

The film was released online in Italian, Chinese, English, Albanian, French and Turkish: all languages of the students who made it. The digital short IKEA ReeDo Story was visible from 23 May to 23 June in Shanghai, as an example of the work of students and teachers from ZoneModa, Rimini campus. The video was part of the exhibition "Bologna, Millennium City and the University", a tribute to the Alma Mater for the 105 years of life and for the 100 years of engineering studies at the prestigious Tongji University. The exhibition highlights the image of Bologna and the University focusing on three key words: tradition, culture and innovation. The inauguration was attended by the Rector prof. Ivano Dionigi with a delegation of the Alma Mater.
